As COVID-19 continues to spread across the world, foodies are still eager to support their favorite local restaurants, we see that many local restaurants have reinvented themselves as takeaways or deliveries.
Some insights on the American & Canadian Market:
- US has around 544,000 Foodservice Operators who focus on TakeAway and/or Food delivery.
- 56% of them are independents. The main players in this category are:
- 35% QSR
- 30% Traditional Restaurant / Casual Dining
- 8% Fast Casual
- Operators mainly go with the combination of offering both TakeAway and Food Delivery
- 56% of them are independents. The main players in this category are:
- CA has almost 55,000 Foodservice Operators focussing on TakeAway and/or Food Delivery
- 53% of these operators are independent
- QSR operators are leading with 30%
- Followed by Traditional Restaurants / Casual Dining with 28%
- And coffee shops / Teahouses with 20%
- The chains have around 47% share or around 25,000 operators
